The Department of Industrial and Engineering Laser Applications is one of the core academic departments of the Institute of Laser. Established alongside the Institute, the department is dedicated to advancing laser technologies and promoting their applications across various engineering and industrial disciplines, including electrical, electronic, communication, mechanical, materials, and chemical engineering.
The department aims to prepare highly qualified engineers with the knowledge and practical skills required to utilize laser technologies in modern engineering applications. It also provides technical consultancy and professional services, organizes scientific seminars, workshops, and conferences, and supports innovative research in areas such as optical communications, sensors, holography, laser material processing, polymer applications, and non-destructive testing.
The department hosts specialized research groups in optoelectronics and communications, as well as materials and mechanical engineering applications, supervised by experienced laser scientists and engineers. In addition, it is equipped with advanced laboratories and workshops, including an Optical Communications Laboratory, a Mechanical Workshop, and a CO₂ Laser Laboratory, providing an integrated environment for postgraduate education, scientific research, and industrial innovation.
