Vision
The College of Water and Environmental Engineering strives to maintain its excellence and highlight its unique characteristics, as well as to create and enrich knowledge through scientific research and publications that serve the community. It is a leader in effective teaching in both basic and applied sciences.
Mission
- To graduate capable and knowledgeable engineers in water and environmental technologies.
- To train various levels of professionals working in the water and environmental engineering sectors and enhance their technical and technological capabilities to keep pace with the changing times.
- To lead water and environmental research programs and provide consultations in these fields with the required efficiency and competence.
- To conduct feasibility studies for vital and economic projects.
- To develop public awareness and guidance programs in the fields of water, environment, and sanitation in Sudan, Africa, and globally.
Goals
• To supply the labor market with specialized and qualified engineers in the fields of water resources engineering and environmental engineering.
• To support integrated sustainable development in related fields.
• To raise awareness and provide guidance on the quality of water suitable for public use. d. Managing water supply, sanitation, and environmental systems projects.
• Developing the field of water and environmental engineering through research and establishing specialized research units that contribute to localizing water resources and environmental protection technologies in Sudan.
• Contributing to the development of scientific societies concerned with water resources and environmental engineering.
• Contributing to the training of employees and affiliates in the water resources and environmental engineering sectors.

The college's vision and mission were formulated based on an environmental analysis to identify the requirements the college should fulfil. The vision and mission were developed with the participation of stakeholders from both inside and outside the college. Internal stakeholders included administrative and academic leaders (the Dean, Vice Dean, department heads, directors of administrative units, faculty representatives, and student representatives). The college's vision and mission were presented through printed materials (boards, posters, and brochures from the Self-Evaluation and Quality Assurance Unit) and on the college website (http://water.sustech.edu). They were discussed with various stakeholders, including academic leaders, faculty members, administrators, students, members of the local community, and representatives of civil society. The vision and mission were presented to these stakeholders (both those who participated in its formulation and others), and their suggestions for revision were discussed. The vision, mission, and objectives were then updated in College Council Resolution No. 3/2013, dated December 6, 2013.
