A message from the Dean of the College, Dr. Adam Khalifa Mohammed Khalifa
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the College of Water and Environmental Engineering. The roots of this esteemed institution extend back to 1962, making it one of the oldest and most prestigious scientific centers specializing in water resources engineering and environmental engineering in Sudan, the surrounding region, and beyond.
Water and the environment are undoubtedly two fundamental pillars for achieving sustainable development and building a secure and promising future for generations to come. Consequently, the development of the College was essential and required careful planning. It has progressed through systematic stages, from a specialized technical center for drilling groundwater wells to a technical institute, then a Faculty of Science, culminating in its current status as a specialized engineering college comprising the departments of Water Resources Engineering and Environmental Engineering, in addition to offering technical diploma programs and postgraduate studies at the Master's and Doctoral levels.
The college is committed to providing high-quality applied education and original scientific research to address water and environmental issues, contribute to sustainable development, and keep pace with modern technological advancements. This commitment is based on its qualified academic staff and its continuously reviewed and developed curricula, which meet the needs of the job market and the aspirations of the nation, while adhering to academic accreditation and quality assurance requirements.
The remarkable academic achievements and published research accomplishments would not have been possible without the competence of the faculty, the dedication of the staff, and the engagement of our students and graduates, who are excellent ambassadors for the college in their workplaces both within Sudan and abroad.
We always strive to solidify the college's position as a leading and preeminent scientific authority and a pioneering technological hub in the fields of water and the environment. We are open to all collaborative research projects, academic endeavors that are considered to be inspirational, and community awareness programs that are designed to achieve this desired purpose.
