The Department of Pharmaceutics is one of the core departments in the College of Pharmacy. It is concerned with the design, formulation, development, and evaluation of pharmaceutical dosage forms to ensure that medicines are safe, effective, stable, and convenient for patient use. The department integrates both theoretical knowledge and practical training in areas such as the physicochemical properties of drugs and excipients, pharmaceutical formulation, drug manufacturing technologies, quality control, biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, novel drug delivery systems, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
The department aims to prepare highly qualified pharmacists with the knowledge and skills required to work in the pharmaceutical industry, quality control laboratories, research and development centers, and regulatory authorities. It also promotes scientific research and innovation in pharmaceutical sciences to advance drug development, improve therapeutic outcomes, and serve the healthcare needs of the community.
