The Department of Physics is one of the departments of the College of Sciences and is considered one of its largest; it was established when the College of Sciences was founded in 1990. Its establishment was based on the Department of Laboratory Technology at the Institute of Technological Colleges. The department awards a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in eight semesters. It also offers graduate programs consisting of coursework and supplementary research leading to post-baccalaureate diplomas and master’s degrees in nuclear physics and solid-state physics.
